I’m running the 2026 Philadelphia Half Marathon to raise funds for Asha for Education, whose projects empower underprivileged children across India through education. This race comes at a meaningful moment. Fresh out of my MBA, starting a new chapter professionally, and looking for a way to invest in the next generation. Asha aligns with something I care deeply about: opportunity and access to education as the foundation for everything else.
This choice is personal. I’ve grown up, studied, and built my life alongside South Asian communities. Asha’s work directly impacts the communities I’m part of, even if I’m not South Asian myself. Supporting that mission feels like honoring the people and cultures that have shaped me.
I’m also running in memory of my father. Running has become central to how I move through the world, and channeling that energy toward Asha and the communities I care about feels right.
I’m running alongside my friend David Garrett, and together we’re committed to reaching our $750 fundraising target.
Since 1991, Asha for Education has catalyzed socio-economic change through education, working with over 50 chapters worldwide. What I admire most is their decentralized model: leveraging volunteers globally to create impact where it’s needed most, free from politics and bureaucracy. That’s the kind of institution-building that matters.
Please donate today if you can. Many employers offer matching donations. Check your confirmation page after giving, and it doubles your impact with minimal effort. To see where your money goes, visit the NYC/NJ chapter at nycnj.ashanet.org.
Thank you for supporting education across the world.
