Hi, I’m Sanchita Patwari, a Philadelphia resident with roots in Hyderabad, Mysore, and New Jersey, and a deep personal connection to the South Asian community. Professionally, I lead our Asian Pacific Islander employee resource group, where I work to build community, help my coworkers connect with their culture, and celebrate the richness of our shared heritage. Supporting children’s education in India is a cause that is very close to my heart.
That’s why I’m running the Philadelphia Half Marathon to raise funds for the Asha Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping young children in India stay in school and complete their education. When I came across this organization’s work, it felt personal. These are children from communities in areas I recognize.
Having lived in India for eight years, I had the privilege of volunteering with local schools, sitting across from kids who are bright, curious, joyful, and eager to learn but face real barriers to staying in school. Financial hardship, lack of resources, and limited access to quality education push too many of these bright kids out of classrooms before they ever get the chance to reach their potential. Asha is working to change that, and I want to help.
Every dollar you donate goes directly toward keeping a child in school in India, funding their education and their future.
Thank you for believing in this cause with me. ![]()
